Premier league schedule for new season? Key dates and derbies

Woke up this morning thinking ’bout football season coming back. Realized I ain’t got next season’s Premier League dates sorted yet. Figured might as well dive in now before work gets crazy.

The Messy First Search

Grabbed my phone while eating toast and just typed “Prem dates” real quick. Big mistake. Got flooded with gambling ads and transfer rumors. Felt like digging through a trash can looking for gold.

Remembered official stuff usually drops around June. Checked the calendar – hell, it’s already mid-June! Started sweating I mighta missed it. Started over, used proper words this time: “Premier League 2024-2025 fixture release date”.

The Official Stuff

Took about five different clicks to find what matters:

  • Fixtures drop June 18th around breakfast time
  • Kickoff weekend August 17th – mark your calendars!
  • Winter madness December 14th to Jan 4th – non-stop football
  • Final day drama May 25th – everybody biting nails

Derby Hunting

Now for the fun part – derbies! Wrote down all the big ones:

  • North London Arsenal vs Tottenham – always spicy
  • Manchester City vs United – blue vs red chaos
  • Merseyside Liverpool vs Everton – that one’s pure hatred
  • West London Chelsea vs Fulham – smaller but still tasty

Realized they never announce exact dates when fixtures first drop. They only tell you the matchday weekends. So if it’s Liverpool vs Everton, you know it’ll be on matchday 7 or whatever – just not which exact date until TV guys decide. Annoying but that’s how it works.

Calendar Setup

Decided to put key weekends in my phone calendar RIGHT NOW before forgetting:

  • Fixtures release (June 18)
  • Opening weekend (Aug 17)
  • Boxing Day fixtures
  • Final matchday (May 25)

Set reminders for two days before each – works better for my goldfish memory.

Bottom Line

If you’re like me and need to plan life around football:Circle June 18 – that’s when we’ll know the full schedule.Block late August to May – basically say bye to free weekends.Derby dates come later – TV companies decide those so you gotta watch for announcements.

Took me two coffees and some headache but now I’m set. At least until the TV companies move all the games around and wreck my plans. Such is life as Prem fan!
